Long Island Deer Solutions is a not-for-profit group of licensed bowhunters with over 30 years experience in helping to solve the growing deer nuisance problem on Eastern Long Island. We are officially recognized by the State of NY to promote the reduction of whitetail deer from overpopulated areas. We are bow hunting specialists with the goal of protecting the habitat of Long Island for future generations. We are reliable and respectful of your property being sure to leave it as we found it. Long Island Deer Solutions strives to build a long term relationship with property owners. The uncontrolled nature of deer population growth causes unnecessary suffering due to starvation as well as devastating illness to adults, children and pets from deer-borne ticks that cause Lyme Disease and Powassen Virus which can cause encephalitis and meningitis. By having an effective deer management program you can help address the chronic overpopulation on Long Island, curtail the spread of tick borne diseases, reduce deer damage to landscaping as well as reduce automobile and deer collisions. Long Island Deer Solutions harvest deer during the legal hunting season of October 1st through January 31st, using archery equipment and following state regulations. Recent and beneficial changes to the setback law have allowed us access to new areas to remove deer from property which has a chronic deer nuisance problem. We also participate in the Venison Donation Coalition, which is a New York State organization designed to help feed the hungry and needy among us. All deer harvested are tagged as required by law. The venison is processed by a butcher. Some of it is donated to food pantries to help those less fortunate.
